So I finally ordered Tristan a new medical bracelet.  He has one now but the bracelet itself is fabric so we take it off before he goes in the bath.  Well most of the time, we forget to put it back on.  Medical bracelet doesn’t do much when it’s sitting on his dresser!!!!

This time I went with stainless steel so that way, he can keep it on all the time.  One less thing to remember.  I liked this bracelet because it does have the little medical alert log on and you can engrave 4 lines of text in the front and 4 lines in the back.

On the front I put:

Diabetic

Insulin Dependent

On the back, I put

Insulin via pump

Check & Treat

Blood Sugar

Call xxx-xxx-xxxx

The only thing that I didn’t really like is that if I choose the regular handling, it was going to take them 2-3 weeks to engrave it.  I think that’s a little ridiculous.  So I opted for the rush service.  That way it will be engrave within 3-5 business day and I should have the bracelet by February 18th.

I’m wondering how many people actually have a medical alert sticker on their car?  I’m wondering if that would be a good idea.  Thinking about the worst of course, what if we got into an accident and we were all unconscious.  Would the rescue team see the sticker before they even got to Tristan.  In my purse, with my ID, I have a little medical card that list that Tristan is diabetic but should I have more?
